RTITB FORKLIFT TRAINING FOR NOVICE OPERATORS

Overview

This 5 day course has been designed for novice operators with less than 6 months operator experience and the training will be delivered by RTITB Qualified Instructors.

Course Aim

To ensure that the new operators can competently and safely operate forklifts whilst in the workplace.

Course Programme

The course is delivered to a group of 3 and includes theory and a high volume of practical demonstrations and exercises.

The course covers the following topics:

• Introduction of Legal Obligations
• Inspection Procedures
• Stability
• Basic Steering
• Battery Care & Maintenance
• Fuelling
• Manoeuvring in Awkward Areas
• Common Hazards
• Safe Operating Practices
• General Safety Rules
• Loading & Stacking
• De-stacking & Unloading

Who Should Attend?

Novice Forklift Operators with little or no experience who are over 18 years of age.

Assessment & Certification

Theoretical and Practical Assessments will be completed by each participant to ensure that they have reached the set standard. On successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a RTITB certificate which is valid for 3 years.
