Overview
To be in the position to confidently assist a child or infant who suddenly collapses, fall ill or is injured whilst at work, at home or out and about is a skill that should be acquired by all.
This 2-day course for Paediatric First Aid skills has been developed to meet the need for carers of children, mothers or individuals who simply want to be able to make a difference.
Course Aim:
To ensure that the participants are confident in adminestering first aid to paediatrics.

- Accident Scene Management & Personal Safety
- Patient Assessment
- Respiratory Emergencies & Choking
- Infant & Child CPR
- Wounds & Bleeds
- Altered Level of Consciousness
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Burns & Scalds, Chemical, Poison & Electric Shock
- Medical Emergencies
- Spinal Injury Management
- Training in the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
This 2 day course is highly practical in nature and will provide the delegates with the necessary skills to carry out their duties as paediatric first aid responders for infants and children. The course facilitates 10 participants who will be taught with practical teaching aids, DVD’s and classroom styled presentations.
Who Should Attend?
All persons wishing to be involved in the First Aid treatment of infants and children up to the age of 14.
Assessment & Certification
A theory exam and skills assessments will be carried out by qualified QQI Level 6 First Aid Instructors.
